- Was Director of the Structured Transactions Department at Banco Finantia, a Portuguese investment bank, with responsibility for the Americas, based in New York (2007).

- Was Executive Superintendent of the finance division and international area of Banco Mercantil do Brasil (2004 to 2006).

- Previously held executive positions in the area of structured transactions in foreign trade at different multinationals, including Bunge Global Markets (2002 to 2003), Enron (1999 to 2001) and Cargill (1996 to 1999).

- Worked in the international finance area of Andrade Gutierrez construction company (1993 to 1996).

- Was an intern at Citibank, ranked among the top three at the end of the program, gaining a promotion to the position of Assistant Manager in the international capital markets area, working in underwriting (1991 to 1993). 

- Holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1990).

- Holds an Executive MBA from Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (1996).
